At this month’s NFL combine, Terrance Ferguson hopes to build on his good week at the Senior Bowl.
During last week’s three practice days at the all-star game, the Oregon tight end, who caught 43 passes for a career-high 591 yards and three scores in 12 games last season, routinely prevailed in his one-on-one encounters.
Ferguson stated his objectives for the week: “Come out here and compete, win my one-on-ones, and show that I’m willing to get better and want to get better.” Take on the finest. Going out there and testing well, letting people know that my flaws aren’t problems, and developing on my strengths are all things that I believe carry over into the combine.
The Senior Bowl game did not feature him.
At 6-foot-4 7/8 and 245 pounds, Ferguson was 10 pounds smaller than his stated weight of 255 pounds at 6-foot-5 at UO. However, he claimed that weight reduction was unplanned and ascribed it to travel during pre-draft conditioning. Ferguson worked effectively as a blocker and created separation, so it didn’t seem to have any effect on the field.
According to Ferguson, “I believe the edge position is the most freak athletes you can have on the field at any time.” It’s been difficult to learn how to block those guys, but I think I’ve improved every year.
I would argue that everytime I’m out there, I create a mismatch in the pass game. Additionally, I have the ability to go up and make big-time plays and contested receptions. God has gifted me with my size, which allows me to play basketball by keeping myself between the defender and the ball. threatening those individuals and employing some route running skills as well.
