Oregon football nose tackle Jamaree Caldwell remaining in 2025 NFL draft

The NFL is taking all of Oregon’s starting interior defensive lineman.

The nose tackleFormer junior college athlete Jamaree Caldwell declared he would not use his additional year of eligibility and would instead stay in the 2025 NFL draft.

Caldwell, who played for Houston in 2023 after attending Independence Community College in 2021, finished the season with a career-high 29 tackles (4.5 for loss), three pass breakups, and a forced fumble. An invitation to the Senior Bowl was accepted.

Caldwell is the first Duck to declare that they are still in the draft, which he was automatically eligible for under NFL regulations. He is one of three Ducks affected by the NCAA giving former junior college players an extra year of eligibility. Both safety Kobe Savage and offensive lineman George Silva have one more year of eligibility left, and Silva has stated that he intends to return.

The Ducks have 83 expected scholarship players in 2025, including seven interior defensive linemen. They are also losing defensive tackles Derrick Harmon and Keyon Ware-Hudson to the draft and My Keil Gardner to transfer. Bear Alexander, a former defensive tackle for USC, joined UO last month.
