Oregon Ducks flip local high school star from rival Oregon State

The Oregon Ducks acquired a local high school football star from rival Oregon State during a crowded early national signing day.

Mark Wiepert, the quarterback for Wilsonville, signed with the Ducks on Wednesday after scoring eight touchdowns under center in the Class 5A state championship. Wiepert, a two-sport athlete, signed with the Ducks for football after previously being committed to the Beavers for baseball. Whether he will also play baseball for Oregon is unknown.
