Oregon Ducks flip four-star quarterback Jaron-Keawa Sagapolutele from Cal

A highly regarded quarterback recruit from the Class of 2025 has had his commitment reversed by the Oregon Ducks.

Jaron-Keawa Sagapolutele, a four-star quarterback, inked a contract with the Ducks on Wednesday. The Ewa Beach, Hawaii-born left-handed signal-caller had already committed to California.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Sagapolutele is ranked as the ninth-best quarterback and the 88th-best player in the nation. Other recruiting sites list him as a five-star prospect, while 247 ranks him as a four-star prospect. With 10,653 yards at the end of his high school career, he surpassed current Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel to become the state of Hawaii’s all-time leading passer.

The Ducks had 14 signees overall on Wednesday morning with Sagapolutele’s signing, and that figure is anticipated to rise during a hectic early national signing day.
