Oregon Ducks defensive back Tyler Turner will enter transfer portal

During the winter transfer window, a third player will join the Oregon Ducks.

The Oregonian/OregonLive confirmed on Wednesday that Tyler Turner, a redshirt freshman defensive back, is going through the portal. Pete Nakos of On3 broke the story first.

As a freshman, Turner (6-0, 190 pounds) used his redshirt to play 33 snaps in four games for the Ducks. He began the 2024 Idaho game as a safety substitute for an injured Tysheem Johnson. He played in few games the rest of the season, recording seven tackles and 97 total snaps.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Turner, a four-star prospect from San Antonio, Texas, was ranked as the 34th best safety and 356th best player overall in the 2023 class. He is still eligible for three more years.
