A Campbell Hall couple has turned to News 12 for assistance regarding incessant barking from a neighboring dog kennel.
However, Ben and Deb Yavuz say their tranquility has been shattered since moving in two years ago by the continuous barking of dogs from the Timber Ridge Kennels on Route 207.
The couple claims their realtor and the previous owners did not disclose the noise level from the kennel before they purchased the home. Despite filing numerous complaints with the Town of Hamptonburgh and attempting to discuss the issue with the kennel owners, the noise persists.
“At night, dogs howling, barking. The howling is the worst,” said Deb Yavuz.
Although News 12 did not initially hear the barking, the Yavuzes shared videos with loud barking sounds timestamped earlier in the day. The news team eventually heard the barking during their visit.
The Yavuzes documented the noise with numerous videos and assert that the town’s noise ordinance prohibiting excessive barking is not being enforced. Town officials have not responded to News 12’s inquiries, and the kennel declined to comment.

“We love animals,” said Ben Yavuz. “We love dogs, but we can’t even nap or have family at our house because of the noise.”
The kennel is now up for sale for nearly $1.3 million, and the Yavuz family hopes new ownership will address the noise problem.
