A tragic discovery in Kips Bay, Manhattan has left a family searching for answers after 31-year-old Yazmeen Williams was found deceased, wrapped in a sleeping bag and left on a dolly near a pile of garbage bags. The NYPD responded to the scene at 207 East 27th St. near Third Avenue, where Williams was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to her head, authorities reported.
Williams, described as college-educated and about to start a new job at NYCHA, was found in a decomposing state, sparking shock and grief among her loved ones. Her aunt, Nisha Ramirez, expressed disbelief and described Williams as a kind-hearted person, leaving the family puzzled as to why anyone would harm her.
Surveillance footage captured a man moving the sleeping bag containing Williams on an electric wheelchair before the body was found near a local tailor shop. Law enforcement sources have not disclosed the man’s connection to the case, adding to the mystery surrounding the circumstances of Williams’ death.
