A man who died in police custody after being arrested for allegedly stabbing someone else in North Portland had no severe injuries discovered by an autopsy, according to police on Thursday.
The 43-year-old male was taken into custody by Portland police on Wednesday night, two blocks north of a convenience store near the intersection of Interstate Avenue and North Going Street. On Thursday, the Oregon State Medical Examiner discovered no evidence that any external trauma was the cause of his death. His name has not been made public by the police.
