To start the season, No. 23 Oregon won its second straight doubleheader sweep.

In five innings, the Ducks defeated Southern Utah 16–2, and Katie Flannery went 2 for 3 with six RBIs. The team defeated host UNLV 10–6 on Saturday afternoon, with Kaylynn Jones scoring four runs and Staci Chambers striking out 10.

With 63 runs in just 22 innings, Oregon (4-0) surpassed the previous record of 57 runs from February 9–11, 2018, and set a new program record for scoring in a four-game stretch.

Oregon scored six runs in the first inning against Southern Utah thanks to two mistakes, an RBI double by Emma Cox, a two-run double by Paige Sinicki, and an RBI walk by Jones.

After three, it was 10-1 thanks to a two-run single from Kai Luschar, RBI singles from Jones and Stefini Maake, and a bases-clearing single from Flannery in the fourth and fifth innings. Jones doubled in RBI to end the fifth.

Elise Sokolsky gave up one run on one single and one walk in the fifth inning, while Lyndsey Grein gave up one run on two hits and four walks while striking out four batters over 4.0 innings.

Jones gave the Ducks an early lead over the Rebels with an RBI single in the first inning and then added a two-run single in the second. In the third, it was 5-0 after bunts from Kedre Luschar and Ayanna Shaw.

Invoking the run rule in the fifth inning, Shaw and Kai Luschar hit RBI singles and Dezi Patmon blasted a solo home run.
