No. 23 Oregon softball beats Buffalo to cap 5-0 weekend

Oregon’s second victory over Buffalo concluded a 5-0 trip to Las Vegas.

At the UNLV Desert Classic on Sunday morning, Stefini Maake led the No. 23 Ducks to an 8-1 victory over the Bulls with a home run and three RBIs while going 2 for 3.

In the first inning, Ma Ake singled to left with two outs to start the scoring for UO.

Ayanna Shaw’s RBI single in the bottom of the inning gave Oregon the run back after Buffalo tied the score with a sacrifice fly in the second.

In the third, Maake made it 4-1 with a two-run home drive. In the fourth inning, the Ducks added four more runs thanks to doubles from Kai Luschar, a passed ball, and two runs scored on errors.

Elise Sokolsky struck out five batters in 3.0 innings while giving up one run on one hit and two walks. Over 3.2 innings, Lyndsey Grein recorded the final out while striking out five and giving up three singles and a hit batter. Rowan Thompson recorded the final out.
