Greetings, Miss Manners I always choose the quiet carriage on my lengthy daily train commute to work. However, there are always some passengers who feel that they are exempt from the regulations.
They think they are above and above the rules for no glaringly clear reason. As if no one could hear, they continue their noisy, meaningless chatter. Some people eat loudly, while others are still unfamiliar with the commonplace tissue or handkerchief.
Not to mention all of those dirty coughers who obviously didn’t learn anything from the pandemic.
How can I respond to these completely unaccountable rule-breakers? I wish to uphold the fundamental principles and regulations.
I have noise-canceling headphones, in case you were wondering. They are helpful, but they don’t completely stop the constant talking, hacking, and sniffing.

PERSONAL READER: A courteous, hushed, Please excuse me, but I think that the quiet automobile, pointing to the sign, or even asking the person taking the ticket for assistance if they happen to stroll by are all appropriate approaches to deal with noisy chatting.
