Milwaukie police arrest man accused of attempting to meet decoy posing as a minor

A 53-year-old man from Clackamas County was arrested by police after he allegedly consented to meet with a person they thought was a juvenile.

According to a news release from the authorities, Marcus Dean Gwilliam, 53, of unincorporated Clackamas County, was taken into custody on January 10 on charges of enticing a juvenile and sexually corrupting a minor internet.

In a cooperative operation, the Milwaukie Police Department, FBI Portland, Portland Police Bureau, and West Linn Police targeted adults who tried to contact children online in an attempt to get them to engage in sexual behavior.

A man who tried to meet in person with someone he thought was a minor was contacted by police using a decoy officer. When Gwilliam showed up at the prearranged meeting location, he was arrested. According to police, he was detained at the Clackamas County Jail; however, jail officials stated that he was released on January 15 after posting bond.

Earlier this month, Portland Police revealed that they had made two arrests for child luring from the same joint operation.

Concerned that there might be other victims who have interacted with Gwilliam, Milwaukie investigators made his booking mugshot public. Officer Carl Dohrman can be reached at 503-786-7488 or [email protected] if you have any information.
