Millions of Stanley mugs recalled because faulty lids can lead to burns

Due to a possible burn danger, Stanley is recalling around 2.6 million of its switchback and trigger action stainless steel travel mugs that are sold in the United States.

According to the business, heat and tension might cause the mug’s lid threads to weaken, which could lead to the lid coming off while being used and creating a burn danger.

There have been 91 incidents of the recalled travel mug lids coming off while being used worldwide, including 16 in the United States. This has led to 38 burn injuries, including two in the United States, and 11 customers who need medical assistance.

According to Stanley, double-walled mugs with a polypropylene top that come in 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz sizes and a range of colors, including white, black, and green, are included in the recall. The mug’s front and bottom both bear the Stanley logo.
