A dramatic scene unfolded in Miami when a woman crashed her BMW convertible into a Popeyes restaurant, captured on cellphone video as she attempted to avoid responsibility. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on a rainy Sunday at the Popeyes location on NW Seventh Ave. in Liberty City, according to Miami police.
In the video, the woman can be heard pleading, “Can you get me out of here, please? I can’t get charged with that. I can’t go to jail, I can’t go to jail. I won’t last there.” Bystanders are seen urging her to flee, shouting, “You better run and leave the car! F— the keys, come and leave the car.”
Fortunately, there were no reports of serious injuries resulting from the crash. Police confirmed that they found no signs of intoxication at the scene. The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, received citations for driving too fast for the weather conditions and careless driving.
