Lollapalooza 2024 has undergone a notable change in its lineup with the announcement that Megan Thee Stallion will be stepping in for Tyler, the Creator as a headlining act. The news broke through Lollapalooza’s official Instagram account, where a photo of Megan Thee Stallion was posted alongside the statement, “Unfortunately, Tyler the Creator will not be able to perform this year.”

Tyler the Creator himself addressed the situation on X (formerly Twitter), expressing regret over having to cancel his appearances at both Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. His tweet read, “i hate saying this but i have to cancel lollapalooza and outside lands. i made a commitment that i can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were.”

Originally slated to headline the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco, Tyler’s absence has paved the way for Megan Thee Stallion to headline at Lollapalooza on Thursday, August 1. She joins fellow headliner Hozier in what promises to be a stellar opening night for the four-day festival held at Chicago’s Grant Park from August 1 to 4.
