Man who lured, sexually assaulted girls dies in prison at 65

According to officials, a 65-year-old Hillsboro man who was serving a 31-year term for raping and sexually assaulting girls passed away in jail on Friday.

Vernon Louis Woodall passed away at a nearby hospital while incarcerated at the Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla. His previous potential release date was August 12, 2039, and he was incarcerated in 2012.

He was found guilty in 2010 of enticing one young woman and two minor girls to his Hillsboro apartment between 2003 and 2008 and coercing them into having sex.
