According to police, a man was shot and murdered in Northeast Portland on Wednesday morning.
Shortly after five in the morning, North Precinct officers were called to a gunshot in the 8200 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. They discovered a male dead at the site. Before police arrived, the suspect or suspects reportedly left the site.
The shooting is being investigated by homicide detectives. According to police, after the medical examiner verifies the man’s cause of death and officials have informed his family, they will identify him.
No other information was given by the police. On November 20, a man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Quality Inn motel close to Northeast Sandy Boulevard and 82nd Avenue.
The man’s death would be the 66th in Portland this year if it were determined to be a homicide. 69 killings were reported in the city at this time last year.
