Man arrested after his partner found dead in Sherwood

Early on Friday morning, a 64-year-old woman was discovered dead outside her home, and her 38-year-old partner was taken into custody.

At 4:40 a.m., paramedics and officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the 20500 block of Southwest Edy Road in Sherwood after receiving a report of an unconscious woman near the road. They discovered Mary McDowell dead in front of her residence.

Jose Lucas Morfin Jr., her partner, was taken into custody on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, unauthorized use of a weapon, and second-degree assault.
