A plan to unionize under the Oregon Nurses Association could soon be put to a vote by more than 2,200 nurses at Legacy Good Samaritan, Legacy Emanuel, and Randall Children’s hospitals.
The union made its declaration on Monday as Oregon prepares for the biggest healthcare strike in the state’s recent history, which will involve employees of Providence Health & Services. Additionally, it coincides with the state authorities’ assessment of a proposed merger between Oregon Health & Science University and Legacy.
