The Lake Oswego Lakers are returning to the state championship game after a five-year break. They had to overcome a 10-point deficit against the reigning champions in the first quarter in order to get there.
The Lakers defeated Central Catholic 33-24 in the Class 6A open championship semifinals at Hillsboro Stadium with to a punishing ground game led by LaMarcus Bell, who ran for 262 yards and four touchdowns on 26 rushes.
