Last year, Intel reduced its local headcount by 3,000 positions and lost 1 in 8 jobs throughout its Oregon workforce in an effort to reduce expenses following a sharp and prolonged decline in revenue.
At the beginning of every year, the biggest corporate employer in the state releases its Oregon headcount. Intel reported having over 23,000 employees in Oregon at the start of 2024. After a year, that number is formally above 20,000.
