Another In-N-Out is coming to the Bay Area. Hayward residents can rejoice because an In-N-Out Burger restaurant is finally launching in their community.
The In-N-Out will be located at 709 Harder Avenue. It is near Cal State East Bay’s Hayward campus. There is no specific opening date, but the company’s website indicates that it is “coming soon.” According to photographs shared on Google Maps this month, construction at the site appears to be nearing completion.
In an email to KRON4, Mike Abbate, In-N-Out Vice President of Store Development, stated that he is “not yet able to predict an exact opening date.”
“We look forward to serving our Customers in Hayward and its surrounding area and are grateful to soon be a part of the local community,” Abbate wrote in her letter.
The Hayward restaurant’s launch follows In-N-Out’s historic closing of its Oakland facility. In-N-Out Burger closed in March due to “ongoing crime issues,” according to the business. That was the iconic burger chain’s first restaurant closure.
Another prominent fast-food establishment is located next to In-N-Out Burger. Raising Cane’s recently opened in August. Last Saturday night, KRON4 went through the drive-thru and waited approximately an hour to be given its famed chicken fingers.
Expect considerable traffic and long lineups while both restaurants are open, especially late at night.
Before the Hayward site, locals had to go to Union City or San Leandro to satisfy their In-N-Out cravings. In-N-Out Burger has posted a job opening at their Hayward store.
In-N-Out continues to expand in the Bay Area, with the Southern California-based business preparing to operate in South San Francisco. Officials are still analyzing the project application, so the opening of the In-N-Out in Peninsula City is not guaranteed.
The Bay Area presently has 38 In-N-Out restaurants, the most recent of which will open in Santa Rosa in July 2023.
