Hangry Joe’s, the Nashville hot chicken restaurant known for its fiery dishes, has announced a tentative opening date for its new Rockford location.
According to the Hangry Joe’s Facebook page, the restaurant aims to open its doors at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, at 6150 E State Street, situated between Sketchers and Crumbl Cookies.
Owner Brandon Wilhelm, who has a history of successful ventures including opening Rockford’s first Subway in 1986, began the build-out for Hangry Joe’s in June.

Hangry Joe’s is set to make a splash with its spiciest offering, the ‘Angry Hot’ chicken, which will require customers to sign a waiver before ordering.
This bold move is part of the restaurant’s unique appeal, which captivated Wilhelm when he first sampled the food offered by the franchise’s founders.
