It was Naomi Briggs’ sixteenth birthday lately. Just before five in the morning on Thursday, she sent her mother a scary text message that read, “I got shot.” Mom. Please. Assist me.
Around 9:30 p.m. the night before, her daughter went out with friends, according to her mother, Drea Briggs, who spoke to The Oregonian/OregonLive. Later, she texted her mom to ask for gas money so she could get home in Gresham, but she replied that she had found a ride and sent the money back.
