GRANITE CITY (First Alert 4)– Jerry’s Cafeteria has been a beloved part of Granite City for nearly 90 years, serving delicious home style meals since 1945. Located on Edison Avenue, just a short distance from the Granite City Steel plant, the restaurant has been in its current spot for almost 40 years.
Visitors to Jerry’s Cafeteria enjoy a buffet-style lunch and dinner that has become a defining feature of the town. Popular dishes include fried chicken, twice-baked mashed potatoes, and homemade pies, which have kept customers returning time and again.

Recently, the community rallied to support Jerry’s after owner Jon Roderick, who has been running the restaurant since 2017, asked for help to keep the business going through tough economic times.
“Running a small business is challenging because we have to compete with the big companies that have flashy signs and commercials,” Roderick explained. “We just can’t match that.”
