Golden Globes 2025 red carpet: How to watch for free, time, TV channel

With recollections of NBC’s refusal to broadcast the 2022 event due to scandals and kerfuffles regarding a lack of diversity and ethical issues within the group presenting the trophies, the Golden Globes have actually been on a roll lately.

(Live From E!: The Golden Globes red carpet coverage starts on the E! channel on Sunday, January 5 at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET.You have two options for live streaming: Sling and Fubo, both of which provide a free trial.)

It may come as a surprise that the Golden Globes ceremony is making a comeback to television to begin the 2025 awards season, given comedian Jo Koy’s terrible hosting performance last year, in which he failed to connect with the audience, viewers, and critics. However, the show did return to its longtime broadcast home, NBC, in 2023 and 2024.

However, the 82nd annual Golden Globes will see other modifications. For starters, the party is now on CBS instead of NBC. Comedian Nikki Glaser, whose background includes giving multiple zingers during the Tom Brady Roast on Netflix, is hosting this time.

This year, the E! channel is making several adjustments in addition to the customary red carpet coverage before the show. Zuri Hall, of Access Hollywood, will work with comedian Heather McMahan. The co-host of E! News, Keltie Knight, will also be present with fashion commentary and predictions for the evening’s winners.

Along with its reputation as a silly, glamorous party, the Globes receive more attention than they perhaps deserve because both TV and cinema are honored. For example, the film categories this year had Emilia Perez, The Brutalist, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Anora, Wicked, Nickel Boys, and Conclave as top nominations. The Bear, Shgun, Only Murders in the Building, and Baby Reindeer are among the TV category nominees.

CBS will broadcast the Golden Globes ceremony at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. Visit the Golden Globes website to view the full list of nominees for this year’s awards.
