Four teenage boys were injured in two separate shootings that occurred within an hour on the South Side of Chicago on Saturday. According to Chicago police, the first incident took place around 3:30 p.m. in the South Chicago neighborhood. Two boys, aged 14 and 15, were shot in the back while they were in the 8200 block of East 82nd Street. Both were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where they were listed in good condition.
Less than an hour later, at around 4:15 p.m., another shooting happened in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. Two boys, aged 15 and 17, were near a sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Vincennes Avenue when someone in a car drove up and an occupant fired shots. The 15-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen, and the 17-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the arm. Both boys were also taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and were reported to be in good condition.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with either shooting. Chicago police are investigating both incidents and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
