An elite tight end prospect’s commitment was not successfully flipped by the Oregon Ducks.
Four-star tight end On Friday, Andrew Olesh made his Penn State commitment. After intense competition from the Wolverines and Ducks, he ultimately decided to join the Nittany Lions, despite having previously committed to Michigan.
According to 247Sports composite rankings, Olesh (6-5, 215 pounds), a native of Center Valley, Pennsylvania, is ranked as the nation’s third-best tight end and 59th-best athlete overall. On Saturdays, Olesh has an opportunity to become a game-changing combo tight end, according to Andrew Ivins, director of scouting at 247Sports.
Vander Ploog, a four-star tight end from Fullerton, California, is the only tight end in Oregon’s 2025 class. To fill the vacancy for the upcoming season, it will probably turn to the transfer portal. Alai Kalaniuvalu, an offensive lineman, was added to the mix late Thursday night after the Ducks signed 21 players on Wednesday, the early national signing day.
As of Friday afternoon, Oregon’s 2025 class is ranked No. 1 on Rivals, No. 3 on On3, and No. 4 on 247Sports.
