Four-star offensive lineman Alai Kalaniuvalu flips back from BYU to sign with Oregon Ducks

Another offensive lineman has been added to Oregon football’s 2025 recruiting class in the uncommon double flip.

The Ducks announced Thursday night that Alai Kalaniuvalu, a four-star interior offensive lineman, had signed a contract. Born at Bishop Gorman High School in Nevada, Kalaniuvalu had previously committed to the Ducks in July but had switched his mind and signed to BYU in early November.

One day following the early national signing day, he ultimately signed a contract with Oregon.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Kalaniuvalu (6-4, 300 pounds) is ranked No. 204 overall and No. 11 among interior offensive linemen in the 2025 class. The Ducks have signed 21 players since Wednesday, including five offensive linemen, thanks to his commitment.

On Bishop Gorman, Kalaniuvalu is teammates with one of those linemen, Douglas Utu.
