Isaiah Hodgins, a former Oregon State receiver, is coming home after agreeing to a futures deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-4 Hodgins, who was selected by Buffalo in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL draft and attended OSU from 2017 to 2019, was raised in Oakley, California, which is northeast of San Francisco.
During the first five years of his NFL career, Hodgins played for the New York Giants and the Bills. He spent the whole 2024 season on the Giants practice squad. Throughout his 31-game playing career, Hodgins had 60 receptions for 634 yards and seven touchdowns.
Until the start of the next season, a futures contract is not deducted from an NFL team’s salary cap. Players who are on the practice squad, on a 53-man roster, or who are eligible for free agency can be signed by teams to futures contracts.
Hodgins is ranked second in terms of touchdowns (20), sixth in terms of career receptions (176), and seventh in terms of yardage (2,322) among Oregon State’s all-time receivers.
