There is hope that Brandin Cooks will be able to participate on Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys meet the Washington Commanders because he resumed practicing this week.
Cooks’ 21-day practice window was opened by the Cowboys on Wednesday, and there was some speculation that he would be resurrected from injured reserve in time for Sunday’s game. This week, it won’t occur. On Saturday, the former Oregon State Beavers player was not activated by the Cowboys from injured reserve.
Cooks will miss his seventh straight game due to an infection that developed in his knee after surgery. Cooks hasn’t played since Week 4, and before to the surgery, he was having a bad season, catching just nine catches for 91 yards and a score.
The 31-year-old Cooks is projected to end the season with career-lows in every major category, which is not what he intended before entering free agency after the season. In order to increase his marketability, the 11-year veteran did state during the week that his knee feels fantastic and that he should be given the chance to end the season strongly.
