Five shot, two killed near Clatskanie

Authorities said that three individuals were injured and two persons, including the shooter, were killed in a shooting that occurred north of Clatskanie on Saturday afternoon. All three survivors were transported to nearby medical facilities, with one in severe condition being flown there by Life Flight helicopter.

Just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Columbia County Sheriff’s office reported that it had responded to a shooting on Ilmari Road. Two of the five shooting victims that responders discovered were dead. The shooter was among the deceased, according to the sheriff’s office.

The response was aided by Scappoose and St. Helens cops as well as the Oregon State Police. Although the sheriff’s office stated that the incident poses no threat to the local population, they did not immediately reply to a message on Sunday asking for more information on the shooting and the survivors’ condition.

Approximately 1,700 people live in the little city of Clatskanie, which is located 15 miles west of Longview on U.S. 30. Ilmari Road is located close to the Columbia River, approximately five miles north of town.
