One Cedar Mill homeowner suffered minor injuries when a fire on Friday night damaged one of the homes and spread to another.
According to a statement from Tualatin Fire & Rescue, firefighters arrived at the scene at 10:30 p.m. to discover the first floor of a two-story house in the 11700 block of Werburgh Lane completely destroyed by fire, with the fire extending to the second floor and a nearby residence.
An occupant in the first house was treated for a minor injury, according to Tualatin fire. After the fire was escalated to a two-alarm fire, more firefighters came and searched the neighbor’s house to make sure no one was there.
According to officials, firefighters had to fight the fire using ladders and a fire truck’s aerial platform because the first house’s stairs were destroyed by the flames.
Officials could not specify how long it took for firefighters to put out the fires.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
