The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, and Jackson County at 2:34 p.m. on Thursday. The advisory was in effect from Friday at 10 p.m. to Saturday at 10 p.m.
“Northeast winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected, except southeast winds from Ashland to Phoenix,” states the weather agency. “Winds will first become gusty at exposed locations in the higher terrain on Friday night, then will be strongest across the area during Saturday afternoon and evening.”
“Those who have respiratory disorders may experience complications as a result of poor air quality. Unsecured objects will be blown around by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, “a few power outages may result and tree limbs could be blown down.” Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. When it comes to handling high levels of air pollution during periods of stagnant air, people with respiratory illnesses should heed their doctors’ instructions.
