Portland police said Tuesday that a man from West Linn was arrested Monday after he backed into a police vehicle and drove away.
According to Portland police, Isaiah Woster, 26, was arrested on charges of DUII and reckless driving and put into Clackamas County Jail.
Around five o’clock in the evening, a Portland Police Bureau officer in an unmarked vehicle on Interstate 205 noticed a white Toyota Camry with Indiana license plates swerving in its lane and nearly colliding with another vehicle.
The motorist swiftly slammed the car into the police vehicle when the officer pulled it over, according to the authorities. The incident’s body camera footage shows the officer drawing his weapon, exiting his vehicle, and then getting back in.
The cop said into the radio, “It’s taken off,” and then he revved his engine to chase after the escaping motorist.
According to the police, the motorist got out of his vehicle and glanced at the police vehicle before the officer drew his gun, jumped back into his vehicle, and sped off.
Woster was then stopped by a deputy from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, and he was taken into custody without any problems.
Police did not identify the Portland Police Bureau officer, but he was unharmed.
