Drop that dip! Portland hummus maker issues recall days before Super Bowl

The Portland-based company King Harvest Hummus announced a voluntary recall of all hummus variations because of the possibility that plastic fragments could be discovered in the dip as a result of faulty packaging.

Consumers have the option to return the item right away or ask the retailer for a refund.

All of the recalled hummuses were 10-ounce varieties that may have been bought at Fred Meyer, Safeway, New Seasons, and other grocery stores in Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, and Washington.

Balsamic, Black Olive, Chipotle, Classic, Jalape o, Lemon, Roasted Garlic, Roasted Pepper, Sesame, Spinach, Sundried Tomato, and Toasted Onion are among the 10 ounce tubs of King Harvest hummus that are recalled.
