Police in North Portland reported that a driver died after slamming their vehicle into a post on Saturday.
Around 11 p.m., officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Burr Avenue and North Willamette Boulevard. According to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau, they discovered an automobile that had collided with a pole.
According to authorities, the driver passed away after being taken to a hospital by paramedics who arrived shortly after.
The driver’s name and other crash facts have not been made public by the police.
According to authorities, the death was Portland’s first traffic-related death of the year.
