This Christmas season, Illinois families will miss out on two cherished holiday traditions due to unforeseen circumstances. The first casualty is the popular Polar Express train ride in Chicago. Scheduled construction at Union Station has unfortunately led to the cancellation of this festive event.
Known for its magical journey that brings the classic story to life, the Polar Express has been a favorite for children and families alike, making its absence this year particularly disappointing.
Additionally, the Christkindlemarket, which was set to return to Wrigley Field, will also be missing from the holiday lineup. The historic venue will be occupied by the NHL Winter Classic, leaving no space for the traditional Christmas market.
This beloved event, renowned for its German-themed food, crafts, and festive atmosphere, will not be held this year.
