Authorities have identified the four victims who were killed and the other 10 who were injured in a single-vehicle incident in Wise County on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to the DPS, the van collision occurred in the northbound lanes of U.S. 287 in Alvord shortly before 8 a.m.
The driver of a Chevrolet Express 3500 van was traveling on the interstate when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, according to the preliminary investigation. The vehicle overturned as a result of the driver’s overcorrection and subsequent loss of control, according to the release.
The DPS reported that “multiple passengers were ejected from the van, which was designed to accommodate 15 passengers.” Investigators reported that only one passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
Diony Antoine, 46; JN Irard Vixamar, 42; and Ledene Pierre-Louis, 36, were the three males who were declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was Antoine, as indicated by the report.
DPS reported that 28-year-old Geneve Louis, a fourth female passenger, was declared deceased at Medical City Denton Hospital.
The remaining ten occupants who sustained injuries were transported to hospitals in Fort Worth and Denton. They were recognized as:

- Marc Jean Lorkens Baptiste, twenty-five
- Vincola Lecean, 52
- 35-year-old Junior Louis
- Jean Edson, 35 years old
- Jean Philippe Durock, 47
- Manius Vines, 44
According to the release, the fatalities were Haitian-American residents of Florida who were en route to New Mexico. The DPS investigation has verified that the travelers were not victims of human trafficking or smuggling, although the purpose of their trip has not been disclosed by the authorities, according to the release.
The investigation is currently underway.
