Shots were fired at NorthPark Mall in Davenport on Monday evening, according to law enforcement officials. Davenport Assistant Police Chief Jamie Brown reported that an off-duty Davenport police officer noted gunfire inside the mall around 4:23 p.m. Additional local law enforcement, including the Iowa State Patrol and Scott County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene.
Police shared that initial information suggests one person was injured, though the injuries are not life-threatening. The mall has been secured, and police are continuing their investigation into the incident. At this time, no other injuries have been reported.
Currently, no one is in custody in connection with the shooting. The mall is closed for the remainder of the evening as the investigation proceeds. NorthPark Mall management decided to close the mall to ensure safety and facilitate the police investigation.
