Dan Lanning among finalists for George Munger college coach of the year

One of the finalists for the George Munger College Coach of the Year honor is Dan Lanning.

Oregon’s third-year coach is one of eight finalists for the Maxwell Football Club’s annual coach of the year award. The other contenders are Curt Cignetti of Indiana, Spencer Danielson of Boise State, Kenny Dillingham of Arizona State, James Franklin of Penn State, Marcus Freeman of Notre Dame, Steve Sarkisian of Texas, and Kirby Smart of Georgia.

Coach of the Year is being given for the third time. Lanning is a finalist for both the Dodd Trophy and the Eddie Robinson Award.

The George Munger Award winner will be revealed on January 7 and the award will be formally presented at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta on March 14.
