Tayvon Kitchen may have been placed in a more difficult situation than anyone else in Oregon. Kitchen was promoted to captain of the Crater’s boys cross-country team as a junior.
Tyrone Gorze had been in charge of the Comets for years. He was one of the best runners in the country and led Crater to team titles in both 2021 and 2022 after winning Class 5A titles in both years.
