Craft Warehouse to close stores in Beaverton, Vancouver

A small local network of arts and crafts shops called Craft Warehouse announced on Wednesday that it is closing its Beaverton and Vancouver sites.

The stores located at 3125 S.W. Cedar Hills Boulevard in Beaverton and 13503 S.E. Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver will be closed on Wednesday in order to get ready for liquidation sales that will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Greg Williams, the president of the company, stated in a news release that the liquidation process would take weeks to finish. The business still has inventory that was ordered prior to the decision to close these locations, and more inventory is in our warehouses and at vendors who will move into the stores over the course of the next few weeks to sell it at a discount.

In 1980, the Williams family purchased three Ben Franklin restaurants in Oregon. Eventually, the family founded Craft Warehouse and ceased franchising with Ben Franklin. Beaverton opened in 2017, whereas the Vancouver location opened in 1997.

The company, however, stated that it is doubling down on its larger-format mega craft stores, including those in Gresham and Hazel Dell, Washington, as patrons visit craft stores less frequently and operational expenses increase. It sells online as well.

Craft Warehouse operates stores in Meridian, Idaho, and Kennewick, Washington, in addition to the Portland region.
