Committee decides to return Class 6A football to old structure, bringing back the Columbia Cup with fewer teams

At its last meeting on Wednesday, the Oregon School Activities Association’s football ad hoc committee recommended to the executive board of the OSAA that a playoff name convention from a few years ago be reinstated.

The Class 6A football playoffs in Oregon will probably revert to a state championship and the Columbia Cup consolation bracket after a year with a confusing naming system that awarded state championship trophies, but with a minor modification to the format.
