A 64-year-old man was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle collision on Oregon 224 in Clackamas County.
Around 8:30 a.m., Oregon State Police arrived at the scene of the collision close to milepost 12.
According to an initial inquiry, Sandy resident Mark Loren McVicker was operating a red Dodge pickup west when it veered off the road, collided with a tree, and tumbled down a steep embankment.
Approximately 40 feet below the highway, the pickup came to rest. At the scene, McVicker was declared deceased.
While investigators processed the incident site, the highway was stopped for around four hours.
