Two Chicago women, Reneashia McDowell, 31, and Shania Jacobs, 28, who were already awaiting trial for previous shoplifting charges, have been caught stealing again.
The pair now faces new felony charges of burglary and retail theft after allegedly stealing over $1,150 worth of merchandise from an Ulta Beauty store in Oak Brook.
The incident took place on Thursday, August 29, when McDowell and Jacobs were apprehended by Oak Brook police after leaving the store, located at 2155 W. 22nd Street, without paying for items.
Officers reportedly found perfumes worth approximately $1,168 in their possession.
This latest arrest comes just weeks after the two women were charged with felony burglary and retail theft for stealing a jewelry box and children’s clothing from a JC Penney store at Yorktown Mall on August 9.
Despite their prior charges, both women were initially released with conditions. However, following their latest offense, a judge has denied their pre-trial release, and they are scheduled to appear in court again in late September.
