A man was assaulted and robbed by four individuals near City Hall in Chicago’s Loop early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. near La Salle and Washington streets.
The 61-year-old victim was approached by four people who exited a dark car. One of the attackers held the man at gunpoint, stealing his money and phone. After the robbery, the group proceeded to beat the man, leaving him with cuts on his head and arm.
A witness described the moment the attack happened. “As soon as I started picking up the phone to call the cops by my window, they immediately started going through his pants. The fourth man jumped out, grabbed whatever the other dude handed him, looked at me for a split second, and then immediately they all started going in the car, jumped in, sped off,” the witness said.
