A Chicago man, Jeffrey Sulaski, has been indicted for robbing a bank in Evanston and attempting to rob another in Chicago on consecutive days earlier this month. Sulaski, 64, allegedly carried out the crimes while on court-supervised release for a previous bank robbery.
According to federal authorities, he successfully robbed an Associated Bank in Evanston on August 3, just one day after a failed attempt to rob a Huntington Bank in Chicago.
The indictment, filed Tuesday in federal court, charges Sulaski with one count of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery.
Each charge carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison. Sulaski is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face these charges.
