Chicago Car Crash Leaves Passenger in Critical Condition: Driver Charged with DUI

In Chicago, a 25-year-old woman, Brishane Jones, has been charged with driving under the influence following a severe car accident on the Jane Byrne Interchange. The crash occurred early on Sunday morning, around 6:06 a.m., on the Interstate 290 eastbound ramp to Interstate 94 northbound.

According to the Illinois State Police, Jones was driving when she lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a single-vehicle accident. Both Jones and her 24-year-old female passenger were taken to a nearby hospital. Jones sustained minor injuries, but her passenger was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, Jones was formally charged with aggravated driving under the influence causing great bodily harm, a felony charge. She remains in custody and is awaiting a detention hearing.
