Chance of showers in Portland Saturday; snow, freezing rain possible next week

Be ready for rain if you plan to attend the Lunar New Year parade at the Portland Chinatown Museum.

The National Weather Service says there is a 30% chance of showers in the Portland area on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The snow level is currently at 1,200 feet and is expected to reach 2,200 feet this afternoon. With a high of about 44 degrees, the afternoon should be largely bright once the morning clouds clear.

Sunday is predicted to be partly sunny and dry. About 43 will be the high.

On Monday and Tuesday, there will be more sun. Through Friday, high temperatures are predicted to be in the mid 30s and lower 40s.

The middle of the week might be fascinating.The weather service says, “Although forecast confidence is low at the moment, chances have been increasing for a potentially impactful winter weather event across northwest Oregon and southwest Washington Feb. 12-14 with snow and freezing rain.”
